They call him The Mute for a reason.
Hard, cold and calculated, he rarely speaks.
When he does, it’s with disdain.
When he does, his words aren’t meant for me.
When he does, my stomach flips and my world tilts on its axis.
He is thirty-three.
I am eighteen.
He’s a single dad and my father’s business partner.
I’m just a kid to him and his enemy’s daughter.
He’s emotionally unavailable.
And I am…feeling. Feeling things I shouldn’t feel for him.
Trent Rexroth is going to break my heart. The writing isn’t just on the wall, it’s inked on my soul.
And yet, I can’t stay away.
A scandal is the last thing my family needs. But a scandal is what we’re going to give them.
And o
h, what beautiful chaos it will be.

Four months is a long time to wait, especially when you love what you read and the anticipation keeps you up at night! Luckily, There was an early release and trust me when I tell you this- I’ve never clicked the buy now button as fast as i did for this book. haha!
L.J. Shen is a #1 best seller author of contemporary romance for a reason. Scandalous is and always will be scandalous.. i mean, Read that synopsis- you’d probably be thinking what I thought when i read that- A 30+ year old hottie and an 18 year old- Disaster bound to happen there…plus…yoohoo… Sugar Daddy Alert! But rest your beating heart my friends, It’s so not the case.

Sinners of Saint is an epic series. full stop. Don’t question it. Just read it. It’s similar to what you’ve read yet so different at the same time. Plus it really doesn’t hurt that the characters are Hot!

Trent Rexroth aka The Mute isn’t really a mute. He just prefers to let actions speak loud than words. He’s a single dad who doesn’t have time nor the patience for any female other than his four year old daughter Luna. Luna doesn’t talk, She can talk.. she just chooses not to. She’s a sweetheart who has a little spunky attitude if given a chance.

Edie is an enigma at first- Shes’s from a rich family, she’s been accepted to five Ivy league universities yet she lives a hippie-hobo lifestyle, works as a surf instructor and declines acceptance to said universities. Edie may be young but don’t let her age fool you, She all grown up- with a relationship that is similar to striking a deal with the devil, Edie and her father have a ‘turbulent’ relation. She’s the parent to her mother and has a responsibility that will unravel along as you read the book.

Edie and Trent’s relationship is surprisingly built on a foundation of trust and mistrust, Forbidden lust and loyalty, desire and passion. Even with the obvious age difference and the underlying tension of mistrust, they ‘went ahead’ with it knowing that..

” When all that’s left of us is sweaty flesh and shattered minds and torn hearts, you will remember me as the man who made you cry, and i’ll remember you as the girl I had to break to stay afloat”

Scandalous is a book filled with wit, passion and plot twists. This is a book that is so difficult to compare and I am definitely going to miss reading this series.

Note: If you have’t read the previous books from the series, I’d suggest you do. You don’t have to but to fully enjoy the experience of the book, i’d suggest you do read them.
PS: I really can’t believe i’m saying this but L.J. Shen just topped VICIOUS (Saints of Sinners #1) for me.
