Jay McLean – Logan | Review

Title: Logan
Author: Jay McLean
Genre: New Adult
Publication: October 1, 2017

As a kid, Logan Preston was a brat.
Through his teens, he became the bad boy.
Now, at nineteen, no one knows what the hell to expect.

High school dropout, Logan Preston is a
good-for-nothing stoner.
A black sheep.
A disappointment.
The worst Preston Punk of the lot.
At least that’s how everyone in his small town
makes him feel.
But Logan Preston has secrets.
Secrets so dark and so deep below the surface that the only way he can fight them is to stay high, high, high.
He wears cockiness as a mask.
Arrogance as his armor.
Until one girl, one night, asks one life-changing question:
What’s beneath the bravado, Logan Preston?

WOH!! Saying this book is a roller coaster of emotions is a an understatement! I should have known that Jay McLean won’t go easy on her readers! I mean.. wow! This book gutted me!
I was expecting a fun book because Logan Preston, Fun loving Logan Preston doesn’t do anything serious. He’s known for being the town man-whore, the high school drop out, the stoner. Underneath all that facade…who would have thought that Logan is harbouring a deep secret that noone knows?!
Aubrey aka Red having had a relationship that left her feeling insignificant and broken hearted, moved into town wanting a fresh start in life.

Logan and Red’s relationship wasn’t conventional- they hurled insulted whenever they were anywhere near each other but slowly they started seeing each other in a different light.
This book gets you hooked from the get go, it’s emotional, it’s addictive and truthfully, so straining in a good way. Just when you think everything is fine and dandy, you realise that there’s more than half of the book left. That’s when the anticipation starts and the panic sets in, thinking about how and what more could possibly go wrong!

The Preston family will always have a soft spot in my heart. I love their family dynamics… I love the characters individually and together as a family. Jay McLean has created a world where the ‘supporting’ characters have just as much weight and ‘substance’ to them as do the protagonists.

Lachlan, Sweet Lachlan, who made me laugh like a buffoon, who stole my heart in Lucas, the little boy who’s innocence can break the strain of even the most awkward suitautions..He is still the the adorable boy, full of questions and still speaks without a filter. hahaha!

This book is amazing! Jay McLean has created yet another masterpiece that welcomes you with open arms into the Preston family and yet takes you on a turbulent journey right alongside the characters! This book is heartbreaking, Unexpected and beautiful!

NOTE: Mary is wicked… wicked isn’t good! Mary is evil… ok.. truth is, Mary is a BITCH!
