He sees her. He falls. He proves it by killing for her in a room full of his associates.

She sees him. She stumbles. She proves her sophistication by fainting, then comes to in a Russian mobster’s compound.
Now she’ll protect herself while experiencing all the things she’s been denied her entire life.

When I saw that this book was going to be release I literally went “Give me! Give me! Give me!” *Grabby-Hands*
The Wanted Series is definitely one of my favourite mafia series so it was no surprise that I wanted..No… Needed this book! Vengeance Aside is the prequel to A Love Of Vengeance (Wanted Men #1) and it can be read as a standalone.

Vengeance Aside has been an interesting read, I was so excited to receive an ARC but once I started,I wasn’t feeling it but then 10% in and I was sucked into it. It was a slow burn romance in the most unconventional slow-burn kind of way. The storyline starts with a bang but for me, it took a while for the story to find it’s ‘feet’. After that, I couldn’t stop!

Lukas and Magdalena (Dale) are an envy-worthy couple. Lukas is the Sovietnik aka advisor for the Russian Mafia aka the Bratvas. He is literally THE angel of Death. He is death wrapped up in the form of the most beautiful man you’ve ever come across. Lukas is a contradiction, he can also be a soft hearted man but with a ruthless streak. He can be like a bulldozer ..plowing through anything he feels is a threat. Somehow when he gets angry, it creates a haze of violence thats willing to destroy any prospect of danger yet on the flip side he can be the most patient loyal person ever.

Dale on the other hand, is generous and courageous. Dale is also so reserved and closed off that sometimes it gets kind of frustrating but I understand her predicament. For a while, her motto in life was ‘The less you care, the less you feel’ but Lukas slowly cut away the vines around her heart and gave her a safety net, a shoulder to lean on. She also has a rebellious streak to her- something which would bother some but to Lukas, he appreciated the fact that she wouldn’t be a submissive little mouse awaiting her next command. I have to say, her rebellious/impudent nature is almost worth having a ‘slow-clap’ moment . hahaha!

All in all, I loved reading this book! I highly recommend it!
